Urban Acid Etch

Acid etching also referred to as a ‘Pavilion finish’ is a process that removes the surface cement to expose the colour and texture below. We then apply an application of a diluted hydrochloric acid formula, to etch your concrete.

It is an attractive finish that is similar in appearance to the traditional exposed aggregate driveways, with the added advantages of being comfortable to walk on in bare feet, as the aggregate is either ground flat or only slightly exposed and doesn’t trap dirt in it.

The process produces a non-slip finish, naturally, so it is the perfect finish for outdoor areas including driveways, pathways and alfrescos.

It is a specialised process requiring experienced installers and specialised equipment. This process can be carried out on new and old concrete; however, the surface must meet specifics standards, and should never be attempted yourself.
